Homelessness in the UK is growing, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Everybody deserves a stable, safe and secure place to call home and we believe this can be achieved if we all work together.
Kent Homeless Connect is delivered by two expert partners – Porchlight and Look Ahead – on behalf of Kent County Council. Working together is at the heart of what we do.
The service brings together a network of organisations, cutting across geographical and service boundaries, to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in Kent. Local government, charities, housing, health and social care teams are all working together like never before to coordinate our response and support our local communities.
We collaborate to direct our resources where they are needed most so that we can get support to people as quickly as possible. At the heart of our service is helping people who are at risk of losing their homes, providing the necessary support to enable service users to obtain housing.
We support people who are sleeping rough by finding them safe housing and giving them help with finances, employment, improving their health and their daily needs. Plus, we work in partnership with colleagues in local authorities to provide support for homeless individuals and those who are at risk of homelessness. We specialise in supporting clients who have multiple needs – such as mental health needs, experience of trauma or substance misuse – and who would otherwise struggle to access the services they need.
We are here for people if they want to move away from rough sleeping, or need help to maintain a tenancy. We will support them if they have experienced trauma, are misusing drugs or alcohol, or have mental health needs. Our person-centred approach means we’re here to give everyone the chance to live the life they want.

We deliver care, support and accommodation services across local authorities for the Kent.
We tailor support to each individual, depending on their needs and situation and take a holistic approach. We work in partnership with people, giving them the tools to become healthy, find a stable home or manage their tenancy or their finances so that they can move away from homelessness for good.
